I don't know about you, but I'm a huge New Girl fan. I love the show. Zoey Deschanel is quirky, awkward, and hilarious. I noticed with this show that people either love it or hate it. I also enjoy the rest of the cast. The actor who plays Schmidt cracks me up as too. People have been quoting, referencing the show (Douchebag Jar anyone?) so much I know this show will be around for a few more seasons. I was talking about the show with my sister and a few friends recently and someone had mentioned they thought the "towel" scene was hilarious.
I have to agree on that one.

Since this is award show season it's only fitting that I post about another one...The GRAMMYs! I had so much fun tweeting along during the show. I got so many more perspectives on what was going on as I was following #GRAMMYs live. I have never tweeted so much in one day. I am a huge music fan and the fact that they had a EDM (Electronic Dance Music) somewhat of a focus, was great. I loved the deadmau5 performance, but I saw so many tweets about people not understanding the whole dubstep/EDM thing. I guess I've been so involved in this type of music for the past year I forget that other people are still getting introduced to it. I'm not bragging like "Oh gosh, you all haven't heard this before?" No, no, no...it's more that not only have I been listening to it, but so many of my friends and my peers around me. Even my roommates that don't care for EDM that much know who deadmau5 is. Also, I'm a pretty big Skrillex fan and was glad to hear that he won some awards too. Speaking of which, I just found out that Sonny Moore (Skrillex) and Ellie Goulding (a great EDM/pop singer) are dating! I love Ellie so when I found out about this today I was super excited. A weird couple when you look at them? Maybe? But I'm super happy for them and I hope it is true and that it lasts! They also just collaborated recently on a song together. It's a long song and it's quite a bit longer before you get to hear Ellie in the song, but you can speed forward through it to hear her.

The Superbowl was this Sunday and the main reason I would really watch it would be to watch the commercials, halftime, and just to know who won. This year I wasn't really feeling it that much and missed a lot of the commercials and missed halftime. Luckily, I can look all of the commercials online. I thought the companies played it somewhat safe this year, but I did enjoy a lot of them. There is nothing wrong with playing it safe, but I just think viewers were expecting more surprising, exciting ads. As for the halftime show I knew it was Madonna and was not really interested in seeing her performance. I got a glance of the performance with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. and of course there had to be some sort of commotion. M.I.A. flipped off the crowd, camera, and the world. I didn't really care because of how desensitized I am as a result from other television shows and movies, but it definitely was not appropriate. I was reading all about the stunt and this is what I found out. Performers usually have two payments, one before performance, and one after performance. Because of the new policies that have been put into place because of other stunts *cough* Janet Jackson *cough* M.I.A. will most likely having to pay a fine or a reduced pay check because of her darn finger.

After I saw what the video clip of what happened I then found another article on how M.I.A. has had some pretty controversial music videos and songs. I ended up finding "Born Free" on YouTube. It has been banned from MTV and other stations because of the violence and issues it brings up. I decided I just HAD to watch this video, which you have to be 18 or older to watch. It was meant to be taken as a stance against genocide and was a very graphic, violent video. I liked the song though. If you can't handle gore or violence I suggest you move on and never watch it. It looks like she is targeting America, but I think the overall message was not against America. Well, whatever the video was about I could have gone without seeing someone being blown up to bits. Always remember, curiosity killed the cat haha.

The SAG awards were this past Sunday! I'm usually upset about at least one of the winners, but I just was so happy for everyone. I mean come on! Betty White won Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Comedy Series so all is right in the world. I was so happy for the cast of The Help. I absolutely loved that movie. I was emotional the whole time. I love Emma Stone and Viola Davis definitely did an outstanding performance.
Now, what comes along with all the the award shows? Fashion police! I really enjoyed a lot of their dresses, but some were way out there, too frumpy, or not flattering. I didn't really agree with some of there comments as always, but I'm sure the show is scripted a little too. Who knows!?
